arrow Previous bar Next arrow

The Governing Board accepts its responsibility for establishing attendance zones in such a way as to facilitate the educational program.

Unless one of the following conditions is present, has been verified by the Superintendent and has been reviewed with the parent, a student shall attend the school in the zone established by the Board wherein the student is residing. A child is considered residing in the school zone where the parent is living except where custody of the child has been legally removed from the parent.

Condition 1: When classes at one school become overcrowded, students may be transferred to an adjacent school.

Condition 2: When the learning center staff have diagnosed a student's learning difficulties and thereafter recommend that the student be transferred to another school.

Condition 3: When an elementary student requires before or after school supervision by someone other than the parent, the student may be transferred to the school in the attendance zone of the "babysitter" provided that classes in that school have space for additional students.

All other requests for transfer of school attendance shall be submitted to the Board for approval.
