In order to establish and support a guiding vision for the district, the Governing Board shall develop, articulate, and regularly review an overarching set of fundamental principles which describe the district's core beliefs, values, and tenets. The Board and district staff shall incorporate these principles into all programs, activities, and operations of the district.

(cf. 0000 - Vision)

(cf. 0460 - Local Control and Accountability Plan)

(cf. 9000 - Role of the Board)

It is the philosophy of the district that:

We believe that curriculum is designed to provide pathways to success beyond high school

Co-Curricular Activities

We believe that strong co-curricular programs develop social, emotional and physical well-being for students, enhance self-esteem and promote interest in learning.

We believe that in order for schools to be effective learning institutions, quality leadership and direction is essential.

We believe that the mission of our schools as community hubs is enhanced when parents and community members understand that the district and school sites value their input, presence and contributions.

Fiscal Operations

We believe that by maintaining a sound, responsible fiscal plan which is conducted within all guidelines set by County, State and Federal governments, trust is established between the district, its communities and its employees.

We believe that qualified and responsible district support services enhance the overall educational environment.

We believe that recruiting, hiring, training and retaining the highest quality personnel is essential to accomplishing high student achievement.

We believe that when students are competent in the use of technology, they are prepared for future educational opportunities, career opportunities and are more fully equipped to succeed in the rapidly changing world.

We believe that providing excellent facilities enables and enhances the educational program.

We believe that when the district, board and school sites are accountable for providing an atmosphere that demonstrates honesty and integrity, fosters strong personal and moral values, develops pride in self, community, service, and nation and teaches appreciation for diversity, students are better prepared to become responsible, productive citizens.
