The curricula of the district schools shall be in harmony with the Governing Board's adopted goals and legal requirements.
Although the Board reserves the responsibility for establishing curricula, the Board encourages the provision of opportunities for staff and community representatives to consult and help in curriculum development. Curriculum development by the certificated staff shall be guided by factors such as research, student abilities, interests and needs, legal mandates, and community recommendations. Teachers shall teach within the approved curricula.
The Board desires that duplication of work among the various school levels be eliminated, and that courses of study and syllabi be coordinated effectively.
