FEE SCHEDULE FOR USE OF DISTRICT FACILITIES

1. Processing Fee: A non-refundable processing fee of $50.00 is charged to all individuals, groups and organizations that are not school organizations or school-connected organizations (as defined by Board policy 1230). The processing fee must be submitted with the "Application for Use of Facilities" before the request will be processed.

2. Direct Cost Rates (Category II): Direct cost rates are charged to non-profit groups as defined in Board Policy 1330 and specified in the Facility Use Rate Schedule. The following direct cost rates apply.

a. Basic Fee: The basic fee is the minimum rental charge for the use of a facility per hour. The basic fee consists of the facility rental (per facility), restroom/cleaning supplies (if restrooms are used), utility costs, and maintenance costs. Custodial costs are additional. For certain events, the regularly scheduled custodian may be sufficient to open and close doors and provide minimal support. However, for most outside groups, additional staffing is necessary to meet the needs of the requesting group and protect the district. The district's evaluation of the request is final and is based on the requestor's needs. The Facility Use Rate Schedule provides the schedule of basic fees for various facilities available for public use.

b. Additional Staffing: Additional staffing cost may be required as determined by the Facilities Department. A minimum of three hours custodial time will apply, and will be charged at the current district overtime rates as applicable.

c. Overtime Rates: Staffing rates will be multiplied by one and one-half times the straight time rate for overtime staffing. If the district is required to pay overtime because the use of facility activity lasts longer than a normal shift, or is deemed by the Facilities Department to require additional staffing, overtime rates will apply.

3. Fair Rental Rates (Category III): All other groups as defined in Board Policy 1330 are subject to fair rental rates and fees as follows:

a. Security Deposit: All organizations that are being charged at the fair rental rate will also be charged a security deposit of $400.00. This deposit will be returned when the district has determined that no additional costs were incurred. Any additional charges that may have been incurred will be deducted from the security deposit.

The district's evaluation of the request is final but is based on the requestor's needs. The Facility Use Rate Schedule provides the schedule of fair rental fees for various facilities available for public use.

c. Additional Staffing: Additional staffing costs may be required as determined by the Facilities Department. A minimum of three hours custodial time will apply and will be charged at the current district overtime rates as applicable.

d. Overtime Rates: Staffing rates will be multiplied by one and one-half times the straight time rate for overtime staffing. If the district is required to pay overtime because the use of facility activity lasts longer than a normal shift, overtime rates will apply.

e. Commercial special event fees will be negotiated by the Director or Facilities or his or her designee.

4. Other Fees: Any request that is not specifically included in the fee schedule will be evaluated on an individual basis and charged accordingly.

5. Charges for the use of school facilities and grounds shall be determined based on the Facility Use Rate Schedule as adopted by the Board of Education. All charges are subject to change at the sole discretion of the Board.

6. The Facility Use Rate Schedule may be adjusted annually to reflect an increase in the component costs to the district that comprise the direct costs and fair rental value costs.

Fee Schedule for Filming and Photography - Basic Fees

The district's exclusive agreement with Film L.A. lists and explains all fees related to commercial filming and photography. This agreement is available for review in the Facilities Department.

Prohibited Payments

Users of facilities shall offer no gratuities to school personnel nor shall school personnel accept gratuities from any users. Gratuities for school programs are not to be solicited; however, unsolicited gratuities may be accepted by the district in the form of donations in appreciation for the rental inconvenience. Such donations or gifts shall be directed to the district, through the Facilities Department. An accompanying letter from the donor may recommend that the donation/gift be directed to a particular site and/or for a particular program.
